Job Opportunity:  Animal Services AssistantAre you passionate about animal welfare and looking for a role with both administrative and hands-on responsibilities?The City of Nacogdoches is seeking a compassionate, reliable and detailed-oriented Animal Services Assistant to join our Community Services team!Key Responsibilities:Provide friendly and professional customer service to patrons and visitors.Perform essential front desk clerical duties, including answering calls, managing records, processing check-ins/checkouts and collecting fees.Assist with animal intakes, handling various animals including dogs, cats, rodents, birds and reptiles.Coordinate adoption applications and assist with animal transfers to rescue organizations.Assist Animal Control Officers and staff with shelter cleaning, animal care (vaccinations, microchipping) and related duties as needed.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.Prior animal services experience preferred (but not required).Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license.Strong computer, communication and multi-tasking skills.Willingness to handle all types of household pets and assist with shelter medical/euthanasia processes when necessary.Make a Paws-itive difference and help give every pet a second chance...........Apply Today!
