Pay: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Location

Cleveland, Ohio | Hybrid. Our attorneys are generally in the office most days, with flexibility for hybrid work. Relocation assistance may be considered for candidates genuinely interested in building their career in Northeast Ohio.

Note

Candidates must have 3+ years of sophisticated litigation experience. The key requirement is substantive experience with complex commercial or business litigation, employment litigation, or white-collar defense. Trial experience is valuable but is not required.

Job Description

• Handle sophisticated commercial and business litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution.
• Develop case strategy and take meaningful ownership of assigned matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other substantive litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex factual and legal issues.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Communicate directly with clients and develop trusted client relationships.
• Work closely with experienced attorneys on complex commercial disputes and other sophisticated litigation.
• Manage deadlines, discovery, motion practice, and competing case priorities.
• Contribute to employment litigation and white-collar matters depending on experience and interest.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience.
• Meaningful experience handling sophisticated complex commercial litigation, business litigation, employment litigation, or white-collar defense.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Experience handling substantive discovery and motion practice.
• Ability to take meaningful ownership of complex matters with limited training.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
• BigLaw or MidLaw litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Strong academic credentials preferred.
• Trial or arbitration experience is a plus but not required.

• 2–3 years: $150,000–$160,000
• 3–4 years: $160,000–$170,000
