Duration: 12 months

Pay Range: $(33.34 - 37.00)/hr on W2 all-inclusive without benefits

Job Description:

\n

· Degree preferred, not a hard requirement

\n

· 1-2 years’ experience required in a manufacturing facility/lab

\n


\n

Top must-have skills include the following:

\n

· Understanding of/experience with carbon fiber, composite materials and processes

\n

· Experience with presses, vacuum systems

\n

· Hands on experience in a lab or manufacturing environment

\n

· Works well in ambiguity

\n

· Good multitasking skills

\n

· ETW will help support work related to shoes coming through the lab that will have a carbon fiber plate in them; will assist with making the plates and prototyping for future products

\n

· 1-2 rounds of interviews anticipated

\n

Description:

\n

· As a Composite/Carbon Fiber Technician, you will be responsible for the fabrication and analysis of composite and carbon fiber components.

\n

· You will utilize your expertise in composite materials and manufacturing techniques to contribute to the production (PROTOTYPING) of high-quality composite parts.

\n

· Your attention to detail, technical skills, and commitment to quality will be crucial in ensuring the integrity and performance of the finished products.

\n


\n

Responsibilities:

\n

· Perform composite layup, molding, and bonding operations according to established procedures and specifications.

\n

· Prepare molds, tooling, and equipment for the production (PROTOTYPING) process.

\n

· Cut, trim, and shape composite materials using hand and power tools.

\n

· Apply resins, adhesives, and other composite materials to create composite structures.

\n

· Conduct quality inspections to ensure adherence to specifications, identifying and addressing any defects or non-conformities.

\n

· Operate machinery and equipment such as vacuum pumps, ovens, and curing processes.

\n

· Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, including the design and fabrication of jigs, fixtures, and molds.

\n

· Collaborate with engineers and designers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

\n

· Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including production records, inspection reports, and material usage.

\n

· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

\n

· Perform cut up analysis on fabricated and tested parts.

\n


\n

Qualifications:

\n

· High school diploma or GED required. A two-year associate degree in Composites Technology is preferred.

\n

· Basic understanding of carbon fiber and fiberglass prepreg laminate layup definition and ability to layup, fabricate and assemble components to completion.

\n

· Understanding of processes such as kitting, vacuum bagging, and compression molding.

\n

· Proven experience working with composite materials, such as carbon fiber or fiberglass prepreg.

\n

· Experience with composite manufacturing processes, including layup techniques, curing, bonding, and finishing.

\n

· Proficiency in using hand and power tools for cutting, trimming, and shaping composite materials.

\n

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

\n

· Attention to detail and precision in working with delicate materials and intricate designs.

\n

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

\n

· Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a manufacturing environment.

\n

· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

\n

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
