1 District Computer Technician Franklin Lakes Public Schools Franklin Lakes, New Jersey Title: District Computer Technician Qualifications: Required:

1. Strong working knowledge and experience with macOS and iPadOS, including troubleshooting and configuration
2. The ability to perform Apple hardware repairs; current Apple Certified Repair Technician (ACRT) certification
3. The ability to independently research and troubleshoot technical issues, including identifying causes and implementing or escalating appropriate solutions
4. The ability to learn and support district software and technology systems
5. The ability to independently prioritize requests, manage multiple tasks and document work accurately.
6. Working knowledge of computer networking, including wireless networks, IP addressing, DNS and printing
7. Commitment to maintaining and developing technical skills
8. Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
9. The ability to train staff on effective technology usage
10. The ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and use ladders safely when required
11. Valid driver's license and access to transportation for travel between district schools Preferred:
12. Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions, Mosyle preferred, and Apple School Manager or Apple Business Manager
13. Experience with deploying and maintaining software on macOS utilizing Munki or similar tools
14. Experience with managing and troubleshooting Google Workspace
15. Experience with telecom systems, NEC preferred
16. Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments
17. The ability to interact with and troubleshoot systems via a command line interface
18. Scripting or automation experience
19. Knowledge of information security best practices, including account management, software updates
20. Experience with artificial intelligence and the capabilities of AI and appropriate use in educational environments 2 District Computer Technician Job Goals:
21. Provide timely technical support for district devices, software, network and peripherals
22. Help maintain reliable technology for teaching, learning and district operations
23. Keep technical documentation and technology inventory accurate and current Performance Responsibilities:
24. Receive, prioritize, resolve and document technology support requests; escalate issues when appropriate
25. Diagnose and repair supported hardware, software and peripheral issues; coordinate repairs when needed
26. Configure, deploy, update and test Mac and iPad devices using district tools
27. Support district devices, enrollment, software installation, connectivity, classroom technology
28. Assist with troubleshooting of network, telephone, and server systems
29. Maintain accurate records of device assignments, repairs, replacements and inventory changes
30. Create and update technical and end user documentation; provide training to staff as needed
31. Follow district procedures for information security, including the handling of student and staff information; promptly report suspected security incidents
32. Work under the direction of the District Technology Coordinator and contribute to district technology projects and improvements. Terms of Employment: Twelve-month position; salary to be determined by the Board of Education Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with statute and Board Policy.
