DescriptionSilver Creek Construction, Inc. is seeking experienced and highly motivated people to join our team. We are currently looking to fill the position of Concrete Finisher for our Heavy Highway construction company concentrating in concrete building and repaving. Concrete Finishers will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks involving physical labor on roadway, highway, bridges, and heavy construction projects. This position requires travel. Majority of our projects occur within the state of Texas, but occasionally some out of state projects arise. Silver Creek Construction, Inc. offers competitive wages, out-of-town accommodations, and daily per diem for overnight stays.Starting Pay is $21.00-24.00/hr depending on experience.All tools and Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerforms any combination of the following duties on construction projects by transferring from one task to another, where the demands require a worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision.Finish concrete for curbs, sidewalks, roadways, bridges, structures, and inlets with precision and attention to detail.Prepare and set forms for concrete installation according to project specifications.Mix and pour concrete, ensuring proper consistency and quality.Level, smooths, and shapes surface of freshly poured concrete using straight edge, float and other hand toolsUse hand and power tools to shape and smooth concrete surfaces.Inspect finished work for quality and adherence to safety standards, as well as patch concrete.Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Levels earth to fine grade specifications using a pick and a shovel.Spray materials such as water and curing compound.Operate small machinery including but not limited to water pumps, portable electric generators, portable sprayers, power and hand tools.Knowledge/SkiII RequirementMinimum of 2 years' experience paving/finishing concrete in Heavy Highway Construction or similar industries is requiredGood mechanical aptitudeKnowledge and practice of safe work practices Team OrientationPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, hammering, rubbing, reaching, kneeling, and squattingRequires regular lifting of up to 80 lbs.Walking or standing may occupy the entire day.QualificationsClear BackgroundValid Driver's LicenseMust be 18 or olderWork EnvironmentOvernight Stay on out of Town Projects (Lodging Provided)Overtime work is requiredRequired to ride to and from the job siteMay be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weatherBenefitsPer Diem on all projects with overnight stay Paid Time OffProfit Sharing ProgramSilver Creek Construction, Inc. is an Participant of the E-Verify Program and is an Equal Opportunity EmployerMust have the ability to pass a background check and drug screening test
