Concrete Finisher

Rice Companies is looking for a Concrete Finisher to join the team at our Mankato, MN location. The Concrete Finisher is an experienced skilled tradesperson that is responsible for smoothing and finishing concrete surfaces to complete construction projects from pre-planning to execution. The Concrete Finisher places, screeds, floats, trowels, and saw cuts concrete daily. The Concrete Finisher also participates in installing foundation assemblies such as footings, walls, piers, etc. Serves as the assistant lead for Rice Companies self-performing concrete activities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Place, screed, float, trowel, broom, and cut concrete daily
• Operates different types of screeds from hand screeds to vibratory screeds
• Install rebar according to plans and specifications
• Duties also include bull floating, troweling, stamping, tooling, edging, power troweling concrete
• Read and Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications
• Quality control during pouring operations
• Coordinate and direct the placement of the concrete
• Applying curing, sealing and/or hardening components
• Lay out and install wet cut joints and/or saw cut joints in concrete slab
• Assist with training employees
• Advise on ready mix admixtures for placing in heat, cold, wind, etc.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

• Five (5) years of concrete construction experience. Experience must include the ability to layout work, set grade elevations, tie rebar, place forms (including vertical forms), as well as place and finish concrete. All work is in a commercial/industrial setting
• Ability and knowledge to operate concrete power trowel during finishing operations
• Self-starter, highly motivated and goal-oriented individual with leadership skills
• Valid driver's license and insurable to operate Rice Companies vehicles and equipment
• Occasional lifting of over 50 pounds without assistance
• Some travel may be required.

The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $25 - $38 per hour depending on experience.

Basic Tools are required to be supplied by each individual field employee.
