Configuration Management Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a Configuration Management Analyst to support hardware configuration management, engineering bill of materials (eBOM) management, and manufacturing bill of materials (mBOM) management for advanced Combat Vehicle programs. This role is responsible for coordinating configuration changes, maintaining product baselines, analyzing engineering changes, and ensuring configuration data remains accurate throughout the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes, is detail-oriented, and enjoys working cross-functionally to support complex defense programs.
Key Responsibilities
Configuration Management
- Support configuration management activities across multiple Combat Vehicle development and production programs.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate engineering configuration changes and Bill of Material (BOM) impact analyses.
- Establish and maintain product configuration baselines and associated configuration status accounting (CSA) information.
- Coordinate modification records and maintain configuration documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure configuration management efforts meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance objectives.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Management
- Create, maintain, and manage Engineering Bills of Material (eBOMs) and Manufacturing Bills of Material (mBOMs).
- Analyze engineering design changes to determine impacts on product structures and BOMs.
- Review engineering drawings and documentation to ensure accurate product configuration.
- Support Item Master maintenance, routings, drawing files, and BOM updates within enterprise systems.
Program & Customer Support
- Execute assigned configuration management activities while meeting program schedules and budget objectives.
- Coordinate work with engineering, manufacturing, operations, customers, and suppliers.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by providing regular status updates and ensuring customer requirements are met.
- Support the preparation, delivery, and review of program documentation, data deliverables, and configuration status reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure configuration data supports manufacturing and production requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General understanding of engineering, manufacturing, and operations processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and determine the appropriate components for Engineering Bills of Material (eBOMs) and Manufacturing Bills of Material (mBOMs).
- Experience with Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) systems.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including:
- Sub-assembly
- Installation
- Machining
- Welding
- Painting
- Product marking
- Experience using Oracle, including:
- Item Masters
- Drawing Files
- Bills of Material
- Routings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, manufacturing personnel, customers, and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions while following established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting defense or military vehicle programs.
- Experience managing product configuration throughout the engineering and manufacturing lifecycle.
- Familiarity with U.S. Government configuration management standards and practices.
- Experience supporting complex product development or production environments.
