About the Role

SN and Utility Services Group, Inc. (USG) are working together to find a Controller to lead and strengthen their accounting operations as the company continues to grow. This is a hands-on accounting leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, payroll oversight, internal controls, job cost reporting, and process improvement in a multi-entity construction environment.

The right candidate will bring strong technical accounting ability, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset. This position plays a critical role in leading accounting operations, financial reporting, team development, financial analysis, and scalable systems improvement as the company continues to grow.

What You Will Do

• Lead, review, and maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger review, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting packages.
• Oversee payroll processes for accuracy and compliance and coordinate effectively with third-party payroll providers.
• Maintain, optimize, and expand the effective use of Vista ERP, including financial reporting, job cost reporting, data integrity, and process efficiency.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis to help leadership make sound business decisions.
• Oversee construction and project-based accounting activities, including job costing, work-in-progress reporting, revenue recognition, and cost tracking.
• Establish, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that promote accuracy, compliance, and accountability.
• Provide leadership and development support for office and accounting team members while helping build future accounting team capability.
• Identify, prioritize, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities that improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability.
• Partner closely with the General Manager and operational leaders to evaluate financial performance, resolve issues, manage risk, and support continued company growth.

What USG Is Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA preferred or demonstrated progression in professional accounting leadership and responsibility.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or another project-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, payroll processes, reconciliations, internal controls, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience with Vista ERP strongly preferred particularly financial reporting, job cost reporting, data integrity, and process improvement.
• Demonstrated experience leading accounting operations and driving accountability for financial accuracy and reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and partner with operational leadership.
• Experience working independently with a high level of ownership while balancing hands-on execution and strategic priorities.
• Strong technology skills required; experience with AI implementation, accounting automation, reporting tools, or systems optimization is preferred.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is primarily an office-based position in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Limited remote work may be possible on rare occasions. Occasional limited travel may be required.

The normal schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Extended hours or occasional weekend work may be needed based on business, client, or networking needs.
