Where: South Atlanta - close to the airport

Why: This role supports financial leadership, strategic planning, and operational alignment across departments.

Office Environment: Hybrid or In-Office.

Position Overview:

The Controller will lead the accounting function for a growing construction firm, driving accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end close, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership on financial strategy
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and insurance requirements
  • Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate payroll and benefits reporting

Qualifications:

Strong background in construction accounting

Advanced proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) and related ERP tools

CPA preferred but not required

Knowledge of GAAP and construction industry compliance standards

Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration skills
