The Company is in a high-growth phase, with an expanding pipeline of projects across key U.S. markets.Position OverviewThe Construction Counsel will play a central role in supporting Beale's end-to-end project development lifecycle, with a primary focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction-related agreements and advising the business on legal and commercial risks.This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure efficient execution of construction projects and alignment with Beale's broader business strategy. The successful candidate will bring a solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of construction, design, engineering, and procurement contractsPartner closely with the SVP of Construction, SVP of Design & Innovation, Chief Delivery Officer, and their respective teams to support the execution of complex data center development projectsAdvise on risk allocation, contract structuring, and commercial strategy for large-scale data center developmentsSupport project teams in connection with construction claims, disputes, delays, and change orders, and coordinate with outside counsel as neededCollaborate with business stakeholders to drive efficient and practical legal solutions aligned with project timelinesManage and coordinate external counsel (currently including Dentons)Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract interpretation and risk mitigationAssist with other commercial and corporate legal matters, as needed, including general contracting and cross-functional supportContribute to the development of legal processes, templates, and best practices as the legal function continues to scaleQualifications & Skills8–10+ years of relevant legal experience, with a J.D. from a top-tier law schoolSignificant experience in construction law, including drafting and negotiating construction, design, engineering, and procurement agreementsDemonstrated experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or real estate development projects, preferably on behalf of owners, developers, or sponsorsExperience advising on construction claims, disputes, and risk management, with litigation experience considered a plusExperience with change order management and claims avoidanceStrong project management and cross-functional collaboration skillsFamiliarity with data center development and/or digital infrastructure projects is strongly preferredExperience negotiating commercial agreements and serving as a primary point of contact for business stakeholdersIn-house legal experience is strongly preferred, with a demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business teamsStrong intellectual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal adviceAbility to manage ambiguity, operate in a fast-paced environment, and balance multiple priorities and stakeholdersProven ability to build relationships and establish credibility with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, including construction and delivery professionalsExperience working with and managing outside counsel effectively and efficientlyStrong business acumen and a track record of acting as a trusted advisor in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environmentExperience in a private equity-backed company or similarly dynamic environment is a plusWillingness to roll up sleeves and operate both strategically and tactically as part of a lean legal teamExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and influence outcomesA high degree of ownership, accountability, sound judgment, and professionalismCollaborative, low ego, and team-oriented approach with a strong sense of initiative and curiosityWhy Join BealeBuild Something Meaningful : Step into a high-impact role helping to shape the legal infrastructure of a fast-growing digital infrastructure platform at a pivotal moment in its expansionFront-Row Seat to Industry Growth : Work on cutting-edge, hyperscale data center developments powering cloud computing, AI, and the next generation of digital innovationTrue Business Partnering : Collaborate directly with senior leaders—including the SVP of Construction, SVP of Design & Innovation, and Chief Delivery Officer—as a trusted advisor on critical projectsBacked to Scale : Join a platform supported by Blue Owl Capital, bringing deep capital, stability, and a strong track record in digital infrastructure investingEntrepreneurial & Collaborative Culture : Be part of a lean, high-performing team where your voice matters and you can influence how the legal function evolvesStretch Beyond Your Lane : While specializing in construction, gain exposure to a broad mix of commercial, real estate, and development matters as the platform growsLocationSeattle, WA (3+ days/week in office)Total Compensation Range$250,000 - $285,000 (+ annual performance bonus)Beale offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.
