    Description

    The Civi Group has partnered with a leading family-owned company specializing in marine and heavy civil construction in Connecticut. They are looking to hire a Structural Engineer with expertise in heavy civil projects.

    This Structural Engineer will be responsible for a range of design and construction tasks, including bridge and infrastructure projects, marine construction, and temporary structural design. Key duties involve overseeing critical lifts, deep foundation work, and various on-site engineering support activities.

    Job Title: Structural Engineer

    Project Types: Heavy Civil, Highway, Bridge, Railroad, Marine

    Compensation:

    Salary: Up to approximately $140K based on experience

    Benefits: Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, and Holidays.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and validate technical drawings and calculations for temporary construction and demolition projects.
    • Plan and design heavy lifting operations, including logistics and equipment setup.
    • Oversee erection sequences and support systems for infrastructure projects.
    • Assess structural integrity and stability of new and existing structures under construction loads.
    • Coordinate project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communications.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications in all design deliverables.
    • Provide on-site engineering support, including inspections and mentoring junior engineers.

    Skills & Qualification:

    • Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or any related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil or marine construction projects.
    • Proficient understanding of construction processes, industry standards, and specific regulations relevant to heavy civil and marine environments.
    • Experienced in project scheduling, resource allocation, site supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting, tailored to the stringent demands of heavy civil and marine construction projects.
    • Valid drivers license and capability to travel to various project sites as needed.
