Construction Estimator

We have partnered with a large construction company in the Sarasota, FL area to provide them with a Construction Estimator. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Construction Estimator:

#1. Qualifications Construction or other Construction Related Degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience is preferred.

#2. 5 years of commercial estimating experience required, preferably with a general contractor or commercial developer.

#3. Must be able to read blueprints.

#4. Experience using cost estimating software and developing detailed quantity take offs and application of historical cost data to prepare estimates.

Responsibilities of the Construction Estimator:

Cost Estimating for commercial retail, industrial, and hotel projects. Obtain, distribute, and manage plans or specifications as directed by supervisor for proposed projects. Accurately prepare detailed cost estimates of all aspects of a proposed project including but not limited to quantity take off, detailed cost estimate, line item and subcontractor summary by division.

• Accurately prepare detailed cost estimates of all aspects of a proposed construction project including but not limited to quantity take off, detailed cost estimate, line item and subcontractor summary by division.
• Work with various departments to establish scope of work.
• Expedite timely, accurate project cost budgets utilizing historical data, unit pricing, subcontractor/vendor proposals and methods as discussed with management.
• Obtain, distribute, and manage plans or specifications as directed by supervisor for proposed projects.
• Review the summarized budget with supervisor.
• Maintain all unit prices and keep current in estimating programs and templates.
• Adjust unit prices in the system as the market adjusts the prices.
• Verify existing conditions of vacancies and incorporate found conditions into budget and estimates.
