Will you join us?Your New JobJob Summary:We are seeking a construction foreman to join our growing team. The construction foreman will be responsible for performing their job duties safely and professionally.Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plansPerform scope of work and recognize work done outside of the scopeDelegate individual responsibilities to crew members and subcontractorsLead a crew in everyday excavation projects to meet all safety needs, schedule timelines, and targeted profit marginsCommunication from the field to the PM and GCTrain, manage and mentor employees and contractorsProvide adequate resources and staff to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needsEmphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear and proceduresManage daily Jobsite and employee paperworkResolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicablyRegularly report project status to project managers, site engineers, and other officialsSchedule material deliveriesSchedule and manage subcontractorsReport injuries and other accidents to the PM.Lead morning and afternoon job-specific safety/huddle meetingsInspect equipment and perform everyday maintenanceNotify mechanic, PM and fill out work orders for equipment repairsLoading and unloading Jobsite materialsMaintain a neat and clean work areaOperate (but not limited to) track-hoe, back-hoe, mini excavator, skid steer, dozer, haul truck, and trencherExcavate and backfill, in a safe manner, trenches for underground utilitiesAbility to operate around live utilities in a safe and cautious mannerPlacement of conduit in open trenchesProofing conduitsPotholing existing utilitiesRigging and setting of structuresForming and pouring of concretePlacement of asphaltEnsure compliance with customer requirements and completed activitiesObserve and promote safety complianceComplete 20 hours of OVE required safety training annuallyParticipate in random drug screeningsEnsure the site is clean and organized at the end of each shiftManage rental equipment deliveries and returnsRequired Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge of underground utility constructionCustomer service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop a positive working relationshipAnalytical skills for handling unexpected issues and delaysInitiative for generating business opportunitiesLeadership skills for delegating tasks to subcontractors and employeesSpeaking skills for providing clear orders to subcontractors and employeesTechnical skills for interpreting construction methods, specifications, and drawingsHistory of working successfully with a team to complete a common goal, “team player”Time management skills to meet deadlinesWriting skills to document work progress, change orders, and everyday reportingRegularly report project status to project managers and or GCKnowledge and experience in how to read and understand blueprintsIn-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines, equipment, and construction proceduresHigh school or equivalent educationValid Driver's license with a good driving recordsubject to a pre-employment drug test and MVRAbility to follow instructionStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with the crew, leadership, and clientsMust be able to meet physical demands of the position; ability to lift to 75 poundsExcellent vision or the use of prescription lensesExceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationPerform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditionsDesired Skills & Qualifications: Provide suggestions for continued improvementMinimum of 5 years of operating equipmentCDL driver's licenseComputer skillsOSHA 30 and trench/excavation safety training / competent person trainingPhysical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditionsAbility to work a flexible schedule to include: nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 poundsMust be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movementMust be able to safely operate company vehicles or workaround heavy equipment and machineryMust be able to stand or walk for long periods of timeMust be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing workMust be able to ascend and descend laddersMust be able to work in small/confined areasMust be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gearMinimum Required Licenses/Certificates/Registrations: Valid driver's licenseOSHA 10Build a Career.
