Construction Inspector

CAFCO Group is seeking energetic, talented and technology savvy people with a primary focus on performing construction inspection activities on multiple NYC School Construction projects throughout the borough of Queens NY.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications.
• Inspect all material upon arrival to the jobsite to ensure compliance
• Tracks quality assurance progress
• Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
• Review plans to identify potential violations
• Document inspections and report any issues daily
• Determine the quality of materials being used throughout the testing.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Associates Degree in engineering or construction management
• 6+ years of experience in building construction trades including inspection of site/civil work
• flexible schedule: availability to work nights and weekends as needed. 
• NICET certifications or equivalent or ASCE grade
• Blueprint reading is a must
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods and procedures
• Ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations
• Experience reading and interpreting plans and specifications
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Collaborate with multiple team members
• Ability and coordination to safely maneuver around a construction site.
