Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Manager to lead the execution of a large-scale hydroelectric dam project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction projects, with proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects in challenging environments. This role requires a deep understanding of dam construction, geotechnical considerations, concrete works, and water management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
- Civil work Oversight: Provide technical guidance on civil works including excavation, foundation treatment, concrete placement, spillways, intake structures, and embankments.
- Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and quality control.
- Scheduling & Budgeting: Develop and maintain construction schedules, monitor progress, and control costs to ensure project delivery within budget.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures for all civil works, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Health & Safety: Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with design teams, consultants, government agencies, and local communities to ensure smooth project execution.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or significant related field experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or hydroelectric projects.
- Strong knowledge of dam construction methods, civil construction, and concrete technology.
- Proficiency in construction management tools. (Microsoft products, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in remote or challenging environments.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Mass concrete pours, setup and QC.
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainability practices in hydro projects.
Previous work on international or government-funded infrastructure projects.
