    Description

    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and lead high-end residential landscape construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for managing field operations, coordinating crews and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader with extensive experience in landscape construction and a passion for delivering exceptional outdoor environments.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Oversee all phases of landscape construction projects including site work, hardscaping, drainage, planting, irrigation, lighting, and related construction activities
    • Manage field teams, subcontractors, equipment, and material logistics to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
    • Coordinate closely with project managers, designers, clients, vendors, and internal operations teams throughout project lifecycles
    • Review project plans, specifications, and construction documents to ensure proper execution in the field
    • Conduct regular job site visits to monitor quality, productivity, safety, and project progress
    • Develop and maintain project schedules while proactively identifying and resolving delays or operational challenges
    • Ensure projects are completed according to company quality standards and client expectations
    • Monitor labor hours, project costs, and resource allocation to support profitability goals
    • Support hiring, training, mentoring, and development of foremen and field staff
    • Maintain strong communication with clients regarding project progress, timelines, and scope changes
    • Enforce company safety procedures and ensure OSHA compliance on all job sites
    • Assist with project forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning efforts
    • Participate in pre-construction meetings, project handoffs, and ongoing operational improvement initiatives

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in landscape construction management, field operations, or project leadership
    • Strong background in high-end residential landscape construction preferred
    • Extensive knowledge of grading, drainage, hardscaping, masonry, planting, irrigation, lighting, and general site construction practices
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction specifications
    • Experience managing crews, subcontractors, schedules, and multiple concurrent projects
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Excel and construction/project management software preferred
    • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
