Construction Materials Engineering Technician

S&ME is looking for an eager and hard-working full-time Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
As a seasoned Construction Materials Engineering Technician, you'll be equipped with a company vehicle to conduct field testing and observations of construction materials at various project sites. Your Day-to-Day:
Experience shifting work hours and travel based on project needs and weather conditions, including early mornings, some Saturdays, and overtime (paid at time and a half).
What You Bring:
High School diploma/GED
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction testing/inspecting soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
At least two(2) or more active certifications of the following:
American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
Additional active industry-related certifications, a plus:
American Concrete Institute (ACI): Concrete Special Inspector; ACI Masonry Field Testing; ACI Flatwork Technician
Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT): Roadway Technician, Batch Plant Testing Technician
American Welding Society (AWS): Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level III certification (Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
Good math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
The understanding of a fluctuating schedule and travel up to 60%, pending local workloads
