A growing commercial specialty contracting company is seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager to oversee daily operations across active projects, field crews, project managers, and fabrication activities. Position OverviewFusion HCR is seeking an experienced, organized, and accountable Construction Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a commercial glass and glazing specialty contractor. The company’s work includes fabrication and installation of architectural glass, windows, and metal façade systems.This hands-on leadership role will coordinate field operations, project management, fabrication, manpower, scheduling, purchasing, safety, quality, and customer relationships. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between the office and jobsites while working with field personnel, project managers, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and company leadership.The Operations Manager will drive operational excellence by improving efficiency, establishing accountability, identifying risks early, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across active commercial projects.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, schedules, and other project resources.
- Lead field foremen and crews through regular jobsite visits and operational support.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, quality, safety, and staffing needs.
- Identify delays, conflicts, cost overruns, and operational inefficiencies, then develop solutions.
- Support project planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
- Review larger bids and provide input on pricing, risks, terms, resources, and viability.
- Coordinate labor allocation among projects with project managers and foremen.
- Manage purchasing, supplier relationships, subcontractors, deliveries, and material availability.
- Monitor project profitability, job costing, labor productivity, and performance.
- Promote safety policies, quality standards, and effective resolution of punch-list and warranty issues.
- Maintain professional relationships with general contractors, customers, owners, and stakeholders.
- Recruit, develop, retain, and hold field and office personnel accountable.
- Improve systems for scheduling, communication, purchasing, reporting, and project tracking.
Required Qualifications
- 10 or more years of experience in commercial construction or specialty contracting.
- Experience in a project management, superintendent, operations, or field leadership role.
- Experience managing both field crews and project managers.
- Direct experience working with commercial general contractors.
- Experience with estimating, scheduling, job costing, labor productivity, and project profitability.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, schedules, and contracts.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and jobsite environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction or project management software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between jobsites.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Commercial glass, glazing, curtain wall, architectural metal, or façade systems experience is preferred.
