Description
ATA Services is currently seeking to hire an experience Construction Project Auditor (Public Sector) to work on a temporary position in Albuquerque, NM.
Pay Rate: 32.00 per hour with weekly pay
Star Date: ASAP
Schedule: Full time – Monday through Friday 8 A.M.-5 P.M.
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Position Summary
The Construction Project Auditor is responsible for planning and performing audits and compliance reviews activities of publicly funded construction and capital improvement projects under PSFA direction and oversight. This role does not perform independent audit opinions on behalf of PSFA. The position ensures projects comply with applicable laws, regulations, grant requirements, contracts, and internal policies, promoting transparency, accountability, and stewardship of public funds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct audits consistent with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) principles as applicable.
Review construction contracts, procurement actions, payments, change orders, and schedules.
Verify compliance with New Mexico procurement laws and labor requirements, specifically wage rates.
Evaluate cost allowability and grant compliance.
Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations.
Present results to management, oversight committees, or governing bodies.
Monitor corrective action plans and implementation.
Verify data and processes in a Construction Information Management System (CIMS).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience
Three to five (3–5) years of experience in public sector construction auditing, capital project oversight, or construction project management involving public funds.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, CGAP, CCA, or CCM are preferred.
