Construction Project Manager

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Location: Conshohocken, PA

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Conshohocken, PA. The Construction Project Manager will support EPC Project Managers and Program Managers in overseeing construction operations from pre-construction planning through project completion and warranty periods.

This role is responsible for managing all aspects of construction execution, including safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, project documentation, client relationships, field operations, and overall project performance. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing complex construction projects and leading multidisciplinary teams in an EPC, Construction Management, or similar project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and manage project safety performance by adhering to company safety programs, policies, and training requirements while ensuring compliance among project team members and subcontractors.
  • Oversee daily construction activities and successfully execute one or multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide leadership in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing key project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while serving as a primary point of contact for proposal and project-related activities.
  • Participate in project risk reviews and coordinate with internal stakeholders, including legal resources, as needed.
  • Negotiate prime contracts, construction management agreements, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Support development and execution of project plans, including:
    • Construction execution plans
    • Quality assurance plans
    • Safety and health plans
    • Subcontracting plans
    • Staffing plans
    • Organization structures
    • Procurement plans
  • Develop construction staffing strategies, train project teams, and coordinate resources across multiple disciplines to meet contractual and performance requirements.
  • Oversee site planning, mobilization, demobilization, and construction execution activities.
  • Ensure required project permits and approvals are obtained and maintained.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement activities, including:
    • Request for proposal (RFP) development
    • Scope of work preparation
    • Bid evaluations
    • Contractor prequalification
    • Award recommendations
    • Subcontractor selection
  • Review and communicate project financial reporting, including budgets, cash flow forecasts, cost reports, and project status updates.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely development and delivery of engineering documents and project deliverables.
  • Manage contract administration processes, including:
    • RFIs
    • Submittals
    • Change management
    • Claims mitigation
    • Contract closeout
    • Documentation turnover
  • Oversee prime contract, subcontractor, and client contractor invoicing processes.
  • Coordinate commissioning and startup activities with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Implement and maintain project documentation processes and records.
  • Verify compliance with insurance, licensing, bonding, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform project safety, quality, schedule, and financial audits as required.
  • Manage non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
  • Support project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, project setup, closeout activities, and field progress tracking.
  • Manage materials receiving, inventory control, storage, and transportation processes.
  • Review contract requirements with field teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
  • Lead project turnover, warranty administration, closeout documentation, and record retention processes.
  • Support communication with government agencies, industry organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Review construction field reports and monitor project performance.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to construction coordinators, interns, craft supervision, and assistant project managers.
  • Provide performance feedback for project team members as requested.
  • Maintain relationships with community organizations and building trades.
  • Develop and implement project labor agreements when required.
  • Support onboarding of craft and field supervision teams.
  • Manage labor forecasting, composite crew rates, labor classifications, benefits, and applicable labor requirements.
  • Maintain craft competency records, training standards, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Estimate, forecast, and manage craft installation rates and productivity metrics.
  • Monitor earned value, schedule performance, cost metrics, and change management activities.
  • Manage construction equipment needs and ensure adequate resources are available for project execution.
  • Travel to project sites may be required based on project needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant construction project management experience required.
  • Equivalent construction industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • Experience managing complex construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Strong understanding of EPC, Construction Management, or large-scale project delivery processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, cost control systems, and document control processes preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience working on construction project sites or managing programs within industries such as:
    • Aviation
    • Commercial construction
    • Energy
    • Government
    • Manufacturing
    • Oil & Gas
    • Process industries
    • Transportation
    • Transmission & Distribution
    • Water infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to meet company driving requirements.

  • Strong subcontractor and vendor management experience.
  • Experience with contract negotiations, change orders, and project risk management.
  • Knowledge of construction labor management, workforce planning, and craft progression.
