Job Summary
Our client is hiring an experienced Construction Project Manager to independently own a high volume of smaller, rapid-turnaround commercial and industrial projects. This is not an assistant or junior PM role. The person in this position must be able to make decisions, manage financial performance and keep projects moving without constant direction.
Rather than managing only a few large builds, you may oversee 15–20 active projects at a time. Smaller project size does not mean less ownership. Success requires strong prioritization, proactive communication and reliable control of schedules, budgets, subcontractors, changes and closeout across multiple jobs.
This role suits someone who creates structure, anticipates problems and follows commitments through while remaining responsive as priorities change.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Independently lead multiple construction projects from planning and kickoff through execution, punch lists and closeout, potentially managing 15–20 active jobs at once.
- Own project budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, cost-to-complete, billing and profitability; identify risks early and take action to protect margins.
- Build and actively manage schedules, coordinate dependencies and adjust priorities as customer and project needs change.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, superintendents, internal teams and customer-site activities across concurrent projects.
- Serve as a primary client contact, communicating proactively about progress, changes, risks and next steps.
- Resolve day-to-day project issues independently and escalate significant risks with clear options and recommendations.
- Manage change orders, contracts, documentation, billing items, punch lists and closeouts without letting commitments fall through the cracks.
- Maintain accurate project information in Procore, including budgets, schedules, reports, contracts and records.
- Use consistent processes, checklists and project management tools to keep work visible and maintain accountability.
- Ensure work meets safety standards, contract specifications and project requirements.
- Take responsibility for results, including timely delivery, financial performance and complete closeout.
