Description
Job Description:
A Louisville/Metro certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection shop is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Construction Project Manager/Estimator to work on projects involving structural steel, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous steel items. The ideal candidate should have experience in Division 5 commercial construction project management & estimating, be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to work well under pressure. Consideration will be given to any candidate with some experience in a related steel manufacturing industry.
General Responsibilities:
Work closely with other team members (estimators, detailers, fabrication, and erection personnel) to manage a projects demands
Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project
Evaluate and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation
Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines
Estimate/negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities associated with each project
Work with accounting personnel to manage job costs for individual projects
Attending site meetings as the project demands and relate all information to team members
Keep up to date with industry standards, codes, and regulations, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field. (Will consider experience over degree).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management/estimating.
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
