A day in this role

You arrive on site before crews mobilize, review the day’s activity hazard analyses, and walk the job with the General Contractor to verify permits are posted and controls are in place. A morning huddle with project leadership turns into a focused Operational Risk Management (ORM) discussion—reviewing drawings, client specifications, and regulatory requirements to anticipate the day’s risks. Midday, you host a targeted safety training, then meet a subcontractor to resolve a non-compliance issue. By afternoon, you’re updating the site-specific safety plan, documenting an incident investigation with corrective actions, and aligning the budget for safety resources. You finish by logging notes in SharePoint, ensuring continuity and compliance across programs.

What you will do

• Oversee Construction Project Safety, Health (S&H), and Risk Management across multiple safety programs.
• Create and execute site-specific project safety plans; partner with Project Management to drive the ORM process.
• Coordinate daily with the General Contractor and site stakeholders to address site conditions and resolve non-compliance.
• Participate in meetings with customers, project teams, and contractors/sub-contractors to advise on mitigation strategies and safety training.
• Assist in building and deploying Site Specific Accident Prevention Programs (APP) and safety training plans aligned to project requirements.
• Manage site safety budgets, verify required permits, and ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Lead the ORM team to review safety plans using client specs, drawings, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct or support incident reporting and investigations; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain current knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and related safety and health standards.
• Perform inspections, activity hazard analyses, emergency response planning, and first aid procedures.

What you bring

• Minimum 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree (EHS or similar). If no degree, bilingual ability is required.
• Hands-on S&H training and regulatory compliance experience (1910, 1926, EM-385 1-1).
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems: ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000.
• Skill in building safety culture; training background including OSHA 500/502.
• Motivation to pursue ASP, CSP, or CHST certifications.
• Experience in electrical, construction, industrial, federal, or commercial S&H environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including SharePoint.
