Salary: $125,000–$190,000+ Base

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent for an established Bay Area general contractor specializing in tenant improvements, renovations, and complex commercial redevelopment projects.

The company works across life sciences, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, corporate office, and technology campus environments.

Typical projects range from $10M–$30M, with fast-paced schedules frequently under 12 months. The company has also completed larger projects valued up to $120M.

This opportunity is ideal for a Superintendent who enjoys running projects, taking ownership of field operations, and working with a leadership team that values results over titles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations on commercial tenant improvement and redevelopment projects.

• Manage subcontractors, field personnel, and construction activities.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, look-ahead schedules, and construction sequencing.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.

• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and resolve field conflicts.

• Oversee inspections, permitting coordination, punch lists, and project closeout.

• Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.

• Identify potential scheduling or constructability issues before they impact project delivery.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction experience with a general contractor required.

• Superintendent or comparable field leadership experience preferred.

• Experience with tenant improvements, renovations, healthcare, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, or corporate office projects is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and field operations.

• Ability to manage fast-paced commercial construction projects.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Candidates with strong trade backgrounds who have transitioned into commercial GC field leadership will be considered.

• Must reside in the Bay Area or within a realistic commuting distance.

• No relocation assistance available.
