    Your Role: Construction Superintendent

We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee custom home construction and a variety of general construction projects from planning through final completion. You will direct daily site operations, lead foremen and carpenter crews, and coordinate subcontractors. Working with the project manager, you will keep projects on schedule, control field costs, and deliver the quality expected in custom construction.

    Work Environment

This field position requires regular walking on active construction sites, climbing stairs and ladders, inspecting work at varying elevations, and working outdoors in changing weather. Candidates must be able to safely access work areas and perform the essential duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage field operations for assigned projects, from site preparation and foundations through framing, finishes, inspections, and closeout.
    • Lead foremen, carpenters, and other field personnel; establish clear expectations and hold crews accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
    • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveries so each trade can work efficiently and in the correct sequence.
    • Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules with the project manager; anticipate delays and resolve scheduling conflicts.
    • Review drawings, specifications, and project details; identify missing information and coordinate answers before installation.
    • Inspect work throughout construction, with close attention to custom details, weather protection, finish quality, and trade coordination.
    • Plan labor, materials, and equipment needs; monitor field costs and document scope changes with the project manager before work proceeds.
    • Coordinate required inspections and address deficiencies to support compliance with applicable building requirements.
    • Enforce company safety practices, conduct site safety meetings, and maintain an organized job site.
    • Maintain daily reports and progress photos; provide owners and the project team with clear updates on schedules, issues, and decisions needed.
    • Plan renovation work to protect existing property and limit disruption to occupants.
    • Manage punch lists, final corrections, and turnover; mentor field leaders and support their development.

    Minimum Requirements

    • At least 8 years of construction experience, including proven field leadership as a superintendent or in a comparable role.
    • Demonstrated experience overseeing custom home construction and varied residential and/or commercial projects.
    • Ability to manage projects of varying size and complexity, adjusting field resources and schedules to meet each project's needs.
    • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, structural work, building envelopes, carpentry, finishes, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades.
    • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, coordinate inspections, and resolve field issues while maintaining quality.
    • Experience directing foremen, carpenter crews, and subcontractors; strong scheduling, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Comfort using project management software, digital plans, email, and daily reporting tools.
    • High school diploma or GED; dependable attendance and ability to travel to assigned job sites.
    • Ability to pass required drug screening and background checks.
