Construction Testing Engineer

As a Geotechnical/CMT Project Engineer, you will lead and conduct geotechnical projects of varying complexity alongside a team of expert, like-minded employee-owners. You will lead and conduct field investigations, prepare geotechnical design recommendations and geotechnical reports, manage and prepare cost estimates and contract plans for projects ranging from residential to commercial.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute Geotechnical Subsurface Exploration Studies
• Coordination of Explorations (Boring layout, Miss Utility, Drilling)
• Slope/Global Stability Analysis
• Construction Inspections (Foundations, Proofrolls, and other similar inspections)
• Project Management (Construction and Geotechnical)
• Evaluation of Laboratory Data
• Soil Classification and Assignment of Laboratory Testing
• Proposals for Geotechnical Investigations and CMT Projects
• Perform pavement design computations
• Coordinate with other staff as necessary
• Manage deadlines and communicate progress of multiple on-going projects
• Manage CMT projects and provide associated field construction recommendations and special inspection services
• Site visits to inspect and document conditions and/or construction progress
• Occasionally serve as Projects Special Inspector of record for contractors
• Host or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on delivered reports and provide technical solutions as necessary

Skills, Knowledge, Expertise

• 5+ years’ experience with geotechnical engineering and CMT projects
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or similar field of study from an accredited university
• EIT, required
• P.E., preferred
• Experience providing excellent customer service
• Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift and/or move 50+ pounds
• Ability to work in all outdoor climates and mobility over various terrain.
• Ability to maintain a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Attention to detail and quality, while adhering to all safety requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Use of company provided equipment and working knowledge of MS Office programs.

The compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $115,000/annually, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.
