The Consumer Sales Representative plays a critical role in driving revenue for Individual Administrative Services (IAS) by engaging prospects, educating them on individual insurance solutions, and closing sales. This position blends consultative sales with high-touch customer engagement and is responsible for converting inbound leads, responding to quote requests, and supporting escalations that impact sales outcomes.
In this fast-paced contact center environment, you’ll handle inbound calls, chats, and online inquiries while actively identifying customer needs, presenting solutions, and guiding prospects through enrollment.
The hours for this hybrid position will be 10:30 am-7:00 pm, M-F. Key Sales Responsibilities
Develop expert-level knowledge of IAS products, services, and benefit designs to confidently position and sell solutions
Consistently meet or exceed Contact Center sales KPIs and performance metrics
Manage high-volume inbound sales calls and digital inquiries from prospective customers
Educate prospects on dental insurance products and close sales using a consultative selling approach
Follow up with prospects to overcome objections, provide additional information, and complete enrollment
Leverage CRM and sales tools to track leads, manage pipelines, and support conversion efforts
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities where appropriate
Support internal agents and external partners with sales-related inquiries and referrals
Participate in team meetings, sales coaching sessions, and performance reviews
Education/Experience/Personal Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent with two years of sales related business experience
Sales and inbound/outbound contact center experience preferred
Must have or be willing to obtain Resident Accident and Health Insurance license and Non-Resident license in reciprocal states within 3 months (Delta Dental will facilitate process and provide study time)
Computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite applications
Ability to actively listen and understand information to direct consumers to appropriate product
Ability to communicate information clearly and confidently to assist customers as needed
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Self-motivated and directed
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Must be well-organized and attentive to detail
Persuasive selling skills with strong customer service orientation
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components
