The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is$85K to $115K annually.  The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. 

We are looking for full-time Contract Manager

The Contract Manager is responsible for leading the development, and ongoing management of contracts and strategic business relationships for the company’s skilled nursing facility operations. This position serves as a key liaison between external partners and the company’s Operations, Clinical, Finance, and corporate leadership teams.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven, highly organized professional who understands the healthcare environment and can identify and secure new contracting opportunities while effectively managing existing partnerships. This individual must be comfortable navigating complex relationships, negotiating favorable terms, identifying business opportunities, and ensuring that contractual commitments are operationally and financially viable.

The Contract Manager will play a critical role in expanding the company’s network of business relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, and ensuring that contracts support the organization’s operational, clinical, and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and pursue new contract opportunities that support the company’s strategic and financial objectives.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective referral sources, payors, healthcare organizations, vendors, managed care organizations, hospitals, health systems, and other strategic partners.
• Lead the contracting process from initial opportunity through implementation, and ongoing relationship management.
• Evaluate potential contracts for financial, operational, clinical, compliance, and strategic considerations.
• Work with the team on developing contract terms, rates, reimbursement structures, service requirements, performance expectations, and other business terms.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure proposed agreements are feasible and aligned with organizational capabilities.
• Track contract status, renewals, amendments, expirations, and required action items.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing agreements, improve reimbursement, and develop additional lines of business.
• Monitor contract performance and identify areas of opportunity, risk, or non-compliance.
• Review contractual performance against financial, operational, and clinical expectations.
• Identify underperforming contracts and develop recommendations for improvement, renegotiation, or termination.
• Monitor reimbursement and other financial terms to ensure the organization is receiving appropriate compensation.
• Support contract renewals and renegotiations with data-driven recommendations.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation and reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in healthcare contracting, contract management, business development, managed care, skilled nursing, post-acute care, or a related healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing contracts and business relationships.
• Strong understanding of healthcare operations and the financial considerations associated with healthcare contracts.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Strong ability to build relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate difficult or complex business relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, contracts, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, organization, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management/documentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with skilled nursing facilities, post-acute care providers, hospitals, health systems, or managed care organizations.
• Experience with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Medicare, commercial payors, or other healthcare reimbursement models.
• Familiarity with SNF reimbursement methodologies and post-acute care contracting.
• Experience working with Operations, Clinical, Finance, and Revenue Cycle teams.
• Experience with contract negotiations involving reimbursement rates, value-based arrangements, quality metrics, or performance-based agreements.
• Healthcare or business development certification is a plus.
