Assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. This includes developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, educating patients and their families, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct evaluations to identify the nature and extent of communication and swallowing difficulties.
Treatment Planning:
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, setting goals and selecting appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Therapeutic Interventions:
Implement a range of therapies to improve speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing skills.
Education and Counseling:
Provide guidance and support to patients and their families on communication disorders, treatment options, and strategies for home practice.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of patient evaluations, treatment progress, and communication with other professionals.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on the latest research, techniques, and advancements in the field through continuing education.
