Control System Administrator - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Control System Administrator - Hybrid (3 days onsite) position with a Major Utility Company located in Dallas, TX. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role requires a subject matter expert and system administrator with extensive experience in Control System / Operations Technologies and their underlying infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide configuration support, troubleshooting, and technical expertise to ensure the 24/7 availability of critical control system environments, adhering to utility industry regulatory requirements and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Support overall maintenance activities and manage the effective implementation of Control System application upgrades and patches
• Support the development of test strategies and assist in testing code updates prior to implementation
• Review risks and impacts of system changes and communicate this information to various stakeholders
• Support the coordination of outages due to maintenance, upgrades, and implementations
• Work with vendors and stakeholders to create, update, and resolve problem tickets
• Maintain security baseline compliance via configuration, implementation, and remediation activities
• Monitor application and infrastructure environment health status, service performance, and utilization
• Implement and maintain continuous compliance to information security policies and NERC CIP technical standards
• Provide tier-3 engineering support and business continuity support for control system applications
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and functional teams
• Participate in an on-call Control System support rotation cycle

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in the required technology areas
• Core experience in managing and maintaining Control System / OT applications
• Good understanding of Windows (Server and Workstation), Linux, Active Directory, Utility Communication Protocols (ICCP, DNP3, OPC), and Data Networks
• Good understanding of Virtualization technology (Nutanix, Hyper-V and VMware)
• Hands-on experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting of the above-mentioned technologies
• Understanding of patching and maintenance best practices in highly available and disaster recovery environments
• Ability to configure and maintain SSL/TLS encrypted communications
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, bash/shell scripting, CALC development, JSON and XML data structures, batch scripting, and version control systems (Git)
• Overall knowledge of data center environments, physical hardware placements, racking, cabling, etc
• Experience dealing with vendors for support, troubleshooting, and hardware break-fix
• Knowledge of backup products and command line utilities

Pay range: $105.50 - $115.50 per hour
