Position Summary:

Based in Santa Fe Springs, CA the Control Technician will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Plant Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Operates, controls and monitors heat treating equipment.
  • Follows written procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
  • Prepares work/loads for processing.
  • Loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
  • Brings any irregularity to foreman or management.
  • Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices.

  • Education - High school diploma or equivalent plus one year to three years' experience of equivalent/relevant work experience.
  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • Must have minimum 2 yrs Heat Treat experience.
  • Must have production scheduling/coordination experience.
  • Leadership experience is highly preferred as this role serves as a backup to the Foreman.
  • Must have forklift experience and knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
  • Must possess ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have good knowledge by experience or training of basic math and computer applications.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed/required.
  • Must maintain professional demeanor and appearance at all times as determined by the company
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive feedback.

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00-$29.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.

This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential, etc., if applicable.

This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus!

Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. Hours for this role are 2nd shift 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm M-F.
