Controller - Construction Accounting | Columbia, MO

A respected, growing construction organization headquartered in Columbia, Missouri is hiring a Controller to lead accounting and finance for the company and each of its subsidiaries. The role partners directly with ownership and senior leadership and carries real visibility. Candidates already in Columbia and those willing to relocate are both welcome, with relocation assistance available for the right person.

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000+ per year, plus a bonus of up to 30%.

Responsibilities:

• Run percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and oversee progress billing
• Prepare and present financial reviews for the board, ownership, and senior leadership
• Lead a timely, accurate month-end close and reporting across multiple entities
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and investment activity
• Produce WIP schedules and review over/under billings each period
• Handle consolidations and intercompany accounting for all subsidiaries

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• Experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader within construction
• Comfort managing investments and cash flow
• Solid grasp of WIP reporting and percentage-of-completion billing
• Ability to deliver clear, board-ready financial reviews
• Background in multi-entity accounting and subsidiary consolidations
