Controller - Construction Accounting | Columbia, MO

An established, growing construction group headquartered in Columbia, Missouri is hiring a Controller to own accounting and finance across the company and its subsidiaries. This is a high-visibility seat that reports into ownership and senior leadership. Candidates local to Columbia or open to relocating are welcome; relocation assistance is available for the right person.

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000+ per year, plus a bonus of up to 30%.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a timely monthly close and accurate multi-entity financial reporting
• Own WIP reporting, including over/under billing review each period
• Handle consolidations and intercompany accounting across all subsidiaries
• Run percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and the progress billing process
• Manage cash flow planning, liquidity, and investment activity
• Prepare and present board-level financial reviews for ownership and leadership

Requirements:

• Proven Controller or senior accounting leadership background in the construction industry
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA preferred
• Strong command of percentage-of-completion billing and WIP reporting
• Experience consolidating subsidiaries and managing multi-entity books
• Ability to build polished financial reviews for a board audience
• Comfort overseeing investments and cash flow
