Controller

Overview:

Walbridge is seeking an experienced Controller who will be a key team member of the finance group. As a leader within finance, the position encompasses various aspects of financial statement preparation, financial planning, analysis, and forecasting to increase performance and improve the company’s bottom line. The position includes heavy involvement with operational staff, including project accountants, project directors, and superintendents, to understand and drive financial and operational excellence. 

 

Location

You will work at the Walbridge Headquarters in Detroit, MI.

Preference will be given to candidates currently located in the Detroit Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises all aspects of the Accounting and Finance department; includes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Statement and Tax Return preparation
• Provide review and final approval of all cash disbursements
• Negotiate and manage daily aspects of Walbridge insurance program
• Administrative review of Building Support group (Mail and Office Supplies)
• Monitor all activities related to building care and maintenance.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, engineering or relevant discipline
• Active CPA License
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting/finance
• Proficient knowledge and experience in WIP Schedule A/P, A/R, P/R and G/L
• Experience in leading and developing accounting staff
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction Industry experience
• Experience with CMiC ERP
• Fluent in Spanish
