Job Details

Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close
Manage the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
Establish and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and other external financial reporting requirements.
Partner with executive leadership and department heads to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Oversee financial reporting across multiple revenue streams, including subscriptions, advertising, sponsorships, digital media, and events.
Monitor revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and subscription-related accounting.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager capacity.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience overseeing month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
Familiarity with subscription-based, recurring revenue, digital media, publishing, or information services business models is highly desirable.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
