A dynamic and rapidly growing organization is seeking a strategic, hands-on Controller to help guide the next phase of growth. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who wants more than a traditional close-the-books role. You'll have a seat at the table, partner directly with executive leadership, influence key business decisions, and help scale the financial infrastructure of a forward-thinking company poised for continued expansion.
We're looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, embraces change, and enjoys building processes that support growth. The ideal candidate brings a blend of public accounting and corporate accounting experience, exceptional business acumen, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
Prepare and deliver accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Partner with executive leadership to provide actionable financial insights that drive strategic decision-making.
Develop, enhance, and scale accounting processes, controls, and reporting capabilities to support continued organizational growth.
Manage annual audits, tax compliance activities, and relationships with external auditors and advisors.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain a strong internal control environment.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities in partnership with finance and operational leadership.
Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and working capital management.
Evaluate and implement process improvements, technology solutions, and automation initiatives.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Support acquisitions, integrations, system implementations, and other strategic growth initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA strongly preferred; MBA is highly valued.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience.
Prior experience leading accounting teams and developing employees.
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and audit processes.
Proven ability to operate effectively in a growing, evolving business environment.
Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Experience improving processes, implementing controls, and driving operational efficiencies.
Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Stable career progression and a demonstrated track record of long-term success with previous employers.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
High visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership.
Opportunity to help shape the future of a growing organization.
Significant influence on strategy, operations, and business performance.
Collaborative, innovative culture that values new ideas and fresh perspectives.
Career growth potential as the organization continues to expand.
Ability to make a tangible impact rather than simply maintain the status quo.
