About the Role

The Controller will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, process improvement initiatives, and team development efforts across a large healthcare organization. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a focus on continuous improvement, financial integrity, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close processes
• 
  
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness across accounting functions

• Document and standardize accounting procedures and workflows
• 
  
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
• 
  
• Support the growth, development, and success of accounting team members across a variety of experience levels
• 
  
• Manage financial reporting and analysis for a large, multi-department organization

• Oversee revenue recognition processes and ensure timely, accurate reporting
• 
  
• Analyze historical financial data to identify trends, efficiencies, and actionable business insights

• Support cost accounting initiatives, departmental allocations, and profitability analysis

• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• 
  
• Collaborate with finance leadership to enhance reporting capabilities and improve operational efficiencies

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 
  
• Minimum of 5 years of healthcare accounting experience
• 
  
• Progressive leadership experience within accounting and finance
• 
  
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• 
  
• Experience with cost accounting and complex allocation methodologies
• 
  
• Ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into actionable business insights
• 
  
• Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements and strengthening financial controls
• 
  
• Leadership style that combines accountability, collaboration, and a willingness to engage in detailed accounting work when needed
• 
  
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Epic or other healthcare-related ERP/EMR systems

• Experience utilizing Power BI, Power Query, or Power Pivot

• Experience supporting multi-location or multi-business-unit organizations

• Experience preparing and analyzing healthcare cost reports

Compensation & Benefits
