Controller

Position Summary

Join a growing real estate investment and development organization as a Controller of Partnership & Development Accounting. Reporting to the CFO, this leadership role will oversee development accounting, construction loan draws, financial reporting, treasury activities, and accounting operations across multiple projects and investment entities. Role Responsibilities:

• Oversee construction loan draw reviews, funding compliance, and lender reporting.

• Lead month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and partnership accounting activities.
• \n
• Manage project accounting, fixed assets, capitalization, and construction-in-progress balances.
• \n
• Support treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, and funding coordination.
• \n
• Partner with lenders, investors, auditors, tax advisors, and operational teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• \n
• Mentor accounting staff and drive process improvement initiatives.
• \n

Qualifications:

• \n
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; background experience in public accounting is preferred.
• \n
• A CPA license in good standing is strongly preferred.
• \n
• 7+ years of real estate development accounting experience.
• \n
• Significant experience in partnership/joint venture accounting along with exposure to working directly with sophisticated institutional investors and/or owners.
• \n
• Direct experience preparing and reviewing construction loan draw packages.
• \n
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, project accounting, and internal controls.
• \n
• Advanced Excel proficiency and strong organizational skills.
• \n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
