Job Details

Responsibilities:

As the Permanent Controller, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Overseeing the production of periodic financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

2. Directing and coordinating the company's financial planning and budget management functions.

3. Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results against budget.

4. Directing the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies.

5. Managing the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts. Implementing and monitoring performance against the budget.

6. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting and tax compliance.

7. Developing and implementing finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.

8. Establishing and maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards.

9. Interacting with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.

10. Ensuring records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.

11. Analyzing cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyzing financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA would be considered an asset.

2. Minimum of five years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.

3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

4. Experience in managing the preparation of financial statements, reports, projections, and forecasts.

5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.

6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.

7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

8. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

9. Experience in a service (consulting) company or similar fast-paced, rapid-growth environment.

10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
