Our client is a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer of industrial equipment for the composites and adhesives industries, with more than 80 years in business. The company designs and builds the systems manufacturers use to meter, mix, dispense and apply hard-to-move materials. Its products include spray and application systems, resin injection, filament winding, adhesive and sealant equipment, and automation. Customers include marine, aerospace, wind energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, transportation, and building products manufacturers around the world. Engineering, fabrication, machining and assembly are all done in-house in East Tennessee, which keeps quality and lead times in the company’s own hands.

Job Details

Job Responsibilities

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across all divisions, ensuring GL accuracy and timely delivery of financial statements.
Assist in preparing and managing management of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
Maintain and enforce the chart of accounts, account reconciliation cadence, and journal entry approval controls within Epicor.
Monitor, analyze and control production costs, inventory valuation, and production variances weekly to perform necessary adjustments and improve profitability prior to month-end
Collaborate with operations to optimize resource allocation, reduce costs, and improve processes
Reconcile balance sheet positions monthly, prepare, review and post journal entries daily as required
Establish, maintain and enforce robust internal controls to ensure financial integrity
Process operational CapEx requests, track spending and capitalization of assets as required
Finance lead for annual physical inventory and monthly cycle counts; work with the operational resources responsible for these processes to ensure timely and accurate counts
Performs annual cost roll and inventory revaluation. Works with purchasing and operations management to enhance accuracy of cost components
Liaison for annual review and tax preparation for US and Canada
Maintain the corporate compliance calendar (registered agent, business licenses, franchise filings) and ensure no lapses in entity good standing.
Manage, train, and develop accounting staff.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles
5+ years experience in manufacturing and operational accounting
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems

Physical Demands

Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Other physical activity may include standing, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, and frequent use of hands and fingers
