    Description

     Job Description:

    Position Summary

    The Controller is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for optimizing financial performance, enforcing sound accounting practices, and ensuring financial compliance. This role oversees all accounting functions, drives budget and forecasting processes, leads cost accounting initiatives, and partners with cross-functional leadership to support business strategy and operational goals.


    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

    Lead the preparation and presentation of financial reports including monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and audit documentation.

    Maintain robust systems for general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, tax compliance, and inventory accounting.

    Conduct and coordinate internal audits; manage external audit activities.

    Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

    Develop and manage cash flow forecasts; oversee daily banking operations.

    Partner with senior leadership to guide strategic planning, budgeting, and investment decisions.

    Analyze financial trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.

    Maintain and refine cost accounting systems in collaboration with operations and supply chain leaders to support accurate costing and inventory control.

    Lead the annual physical inventory process and related reconciliation activities.

    Recruit, mentor, and manage Accounting & Finance staff to foster professional growth and ensure high-performance.

    Present financial updates and insights to executive management and other stakeholders.

    Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.


    Qualifications

    Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

    7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment

    Advanced expertise in cost accounting and financial analysis

    Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance

    Proficient in ERP systems (Infor Visual preferred); advanced Excel skills required

    Demonstrated leadership experience, including team development and cross-functional collaboration

    Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills

    Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and strong attention to detail
