Controller

The client are a fast growing tech (SaaS), new media and internet company that are looking for a new Financial Controller to join the team on a permanent basis. You will be managing the day to day accounting operations of the team and will be the main point of contact, taking care of the full cycle statutory audit. The head office is in Salt Lake City (Utah), but this role is fully remote.

Client Details

The client are a very successful (and fast growing) EdTech/SaaS organization with a global presence. They have 3 entities across Australia, the US and UK, and this candidate will manage the consolidation of all 3. On top of that, they will have 3 direct reports and work very closely with the Head of Revenue Ops, FP&A Director and the CFO. The successful candidate will have a strong public/private accounting mix and will be leading the full cycle statutory audit. The role will also involve a little travel (to Australia and Salt Lake City).

Description

The successful Financial Controller will be:

• Overseeing 3 direct reports (Fin Acc, AR, AP & Biller)
• Lead the day to day accounting and finance function for the company
• Multi-entity consolidation of the accounts (across 3 entities) - Australia, UK and US
• Own the M/E and Y/E close
• Intercompany reconciliations and returns
• Prep and presentation of the management and board reporting pack
• Improve the standard processes and accounting controls in the team through automation
• Own the FX side as well - Treasury - manage the cashflow for each of the company's accounts and manage the intercompany transactions
• FX reporting
• Main point of contact for the full cycle statutory audit
• Main POC for the external auditors
• Maintain accounting procedure, controls and processes - automate and improve where they can
• Technical accounting - ASC 606
• Liaising and working closely with the operations team

Profile

The successful Financial Controller will:

• MUST have recent experience doing a similar role in a SaaS company (ideally rapid growth)
• MUST have experience consolidating across multiple international entities
• CPA qualification
• Have a strong mixture of both public and private accounting
• MUST have prior experience of managing (end-to-end) a full cycle statutory audit
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Happy to travel 4 times (max) per year
• Prior knowledge of the system Xero (desirable, not essential)
• Strong Excel skills

Job Offer

• $180,000 - $200,000
