Controller (Center of Excellence)


GardaWorld is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Controller, Accounting Center of Excellence (COE) to help lead the transformation and optimization of our accounting operations across multiple business units.
As we continue to strengthen our financial infrastructure, we are bringing together key accounting functions into a centralized Center of Excellence designed to improve efficiency, consistency, accuracy, and scalability across the organization.

• Location: Boca Raton, FL

• Lead and oversee centralized accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across multiple business units.
• Manage critical accounting activities, including month-end and year-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Establish consistent accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that support financial integrity and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and applicable financial reporting requirements.
• Partner with business unit finance leaders to resolve complex accounting matters and improve reporting accuracy.
   

• Play a key leadership role in establishing, scaling, and continuously improving the Accounting Center of Excellence.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, centralize, and streamline accounting processes across multiple business units.
• Develop scalable operating procedures, service expectations, and performance metrics to drive consistency and accountability.
• Lead process improvement initiatives focused on reducing manual activities, eliminating redundancies, and improving close-cycle efficiency.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to support system enhancements, automation, and technology-enabled accounting solutions.
• Support the integration and alignment of accounting functions as the organization continues to evolve.

• Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Establish clear performance expectations, operational priorities, and measurable service standards.
• Build strong relationships with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Operations, and other business partners.
• Serve as a trusted accounting advisor to senior finance leadership, providing insights and recommendations to strengthen financial operations.
• Effectively navigate competing priorities and organizational change while maintaining business continuity.

• Strengthen internal controls, account reconciliation practices, and financial governance across centralized accounting activities.
• Support internal and external audit requirements, ensuring appropriate documentation and timely issue resolution.
• Identify operational and financial risks and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Promote continuous improvement in accounting accuracy, compliance, and reporting transparency.
   

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant leadership experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams and managing complex accounting operations.
• Experience standardizing accounting processes, implementing operational improvements, or supporting organizational transformation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively partner with senior leaders and stakeholders across multiple business functions.
• Proven ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands-on operational leadership in a fast-paced environment.
