Rebound is hiring for a full-time Controller to oversee the organization's daily accounting, banking, audit, AP, and tax functions. This includes maintaining compliance with internal financial reporting standards, production of periodic financial reports, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. Produce regular monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that provide insight into the business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Services - Manage Financial Accounting, Tax Reporting, AP, and Banking
  • Manage monthly close process and preparation of financial reports as required.
  • Maintain loans and debt management schedules.
  • Manage Year-end tax planning and analysis.
  • Administer the 401(k) and profit-sharing plan, including compliance and reporting. Lead the retirement committee.
  • Manage all accounting, payroll and purchasing systems.
  • Monitor compliance with laws and regulations and assure required legal and regulatory documents are filed and. Oversee timely reporting as required by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Build and manage relationships with external partners, including, but not limited to, financial institutions, CPA's and independent auditors.
  • Financial oversight and management of the Rebound Research & Education Foundation and Surgical Specialists Investment, LLC.
  • Provide leadership and supervise the accounting team
    • Provide leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality service across the organization.
    • Recruit, hire, onboard and supervise accounting staff.
  • Direct and oversee the daily operations of the accounting team to optimize department function and maximize productivity.
  • Provide ongoing training and development. Establish performance standards, conduct evaluations, coaching and development plans to drive individual and team success.
  • Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
  • Lead monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budgeting process.
  • Develop forward-looking financial models and performance projections.
  • Deliver insights on income, expenses, and earnings based on current and expected operations.
  • Publish quarterly "silo" reports assessing profitability by specialty for both Rebound and ASC.
  • Monitor key financial and operational KPIs.
  • Provide analysis and financial optimization on areas such as:
  • Supply cost management.
  • Operational productivity and performance standards.
  • Profitability drivers.
  • Support benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Contract negotiations.
  • Feasibility studies and growth initiatives.
  • Respond to ad hoc analysis needs from leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in business administration, accounting or finance or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
  • Ten years of experience in financial/accounting management. Three years of experience as a senior executive. Experience in health care financial management strongly preferred.
  • Superior knowledge of the principles of financial management sufficient to direct professional staff and coordinate all aspects involved with fiscal requirements.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and financial programs.
  • Knowledge of clinical financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements.
  • Ability to understand and comply with governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making to achieve objectives.
  • Skill in evaluating operations as they relate to policies, goals, objectives and costs.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work may require sitting for long periods of time.
  • Stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies.
  • Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary.
  • It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods.
  • May be required to work under pressure.
  • Works in close proximity to office personnel within limited workspace.
  • Interaction with others and phones can cause frequent disruptions.
  • Tasks are of minimal hazardous conditions.
