ProMach is excited to welcome the next generation of engineering talent through our 2027 Summer Internship Program. As a Controls Engineer Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to support the design, development, and implementation of control systems for innovative packaging machinery.

This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, exposure to industrial automation technologies, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful engineering projects while developing technical and professional skills.

What You'll Do

As a Controls Engineer Intern, you will:

• Assist in the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems
• Support the integration of sensors, actuators, drives, and other control system components
• Participate in troubleshooting and debugging electrical and control systems on automated machinery
• Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with Controls Engineers on system upgrades, customer projects, and new product development initiatives
• Conduct research, testing, and analysis to improve machine performance and control system functionality
• Support equipment validation activities and system testing efforts
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards

Who We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Basic understanding of PLC programming platforms such as Rockwell Automation or Siemens
• Familiarity with HMI development and industrial automation concepts
• Exposure to electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel design principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Previous experience with manufacturing, robotics, automation, or industrial controls is a plus
