Location: Pell City, AL

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Controls Engineer with deep expertise in Siemens S7-300 and S7-1500 PLC programming to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment near Birmingham, Alabama. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in dynamic settings and is passionate about automation, capital project execution, and electrical design.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, program, and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs using Simatic Manager and TIA Portal V15.1V18
Lead and manage capital projects, ensuring compliance with NEC and NFPA standards
Design electrical control panels using AutoCAD 2016
Perform start-up, commissioning, and program edits for new and existing systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes
Maintain accurate documentation and provide technical support across departments

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in Siemens PLC programming (S7-300 & S7-1500)
Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC, NFPA)
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2016 for panel design
Background in fast-paced manufacturing environments
Hands-on experience with start-up and commissioning
Familiarity with Simatic Manager and TIA Portal V15.1V18
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent years of experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented
