About the Opportunity:
A rapidly expanding building automation and systems integration firm is seeking a skilled Controls Project Engineer for its San Diego office. The company is well-regarded for delivering sophisticated solutions to Class A commercial clients, government facilities, and institutional environments. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy coordinating engineering activities, reviewing submittals, and helping drive controls projects from design through closeout.
Position Details:
Title: Controls Project Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA
Compensation: $75,000–$100,000 (DOE) + Bonus
Status: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers in planning, tracking, and executing BAS/controls projects
Oversee schedules, budgets, documentation, and project deliverables
Review, interpret, and validate DDC shop drawings and technical submittals
Prepare and manage RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence
Coordinate with vendors and support material procurement efforts
Ideal Candidate:
Experience in BAS, HVAC controls, or mechanical/electrical project engineering
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and specification review skills
Excellent communicator capable of cross-functional coordination
Working knowledge of HVAC systems and construction workflows
