Position Description

Title: Machine Operator

Department: Converting

Location: Blythewood, SC

Immediate Supervisor: Manufacturing Manager

Status: Hourly

Position Purpose: The Operator is responsible for the safe & productive running of their line. This is accomplished

with the assistance of other Operators. They ensure that quality products are made in accordance with

specifications in a safe & productive manner.

Principle Accountabilities

• Follows all Safety Rules. Participates in monthly 100% Safety Participation Program.
• Works with maintenance on maintenance issues related to the performance of the line. Performs mechanical adjustments as required. Performs minor PM work as required. Assists with Work Orders.
• Uses forklift & works with Material Handler to move product & supplies.
• Will at times be required to lift & palletize products. Weights could be as high as 60 lbs.
• Maintains pallet counts and raw materials for the line.
• Completes the daily check lists for the line.
• Actively participates and adheres to the IPS process.
• Adheres to & completes quality checklists to make sure there are no flaws in a product
• Works in a team to keep the line running productively while meeting hourly targets. Will run the line alone at times when required.
• Must have basic computer skills or experience with computerized equipment.
• Must have a basic understanding on using measurement tools.
• Ensures housekeeping is maintained for a clean & safe work environment.
• Related tasks as requested by department Lead, Process Lead and/or department Manager.

Essential Skills and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills required.
• Ability to work in a self-directed workforce environment.
