Job Summary
Braza Chicken is looking for dependable and hardworking Line Cooks / Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate takes pride in preparing quality food, follows recipes and procedures accurately, and works well in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
This position is responsible for food preparation, cooking, maintaining proper portions and presentation, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, and supporting the team during busy service periods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to Braza Chicken recipes and preparation standards.
- Chop, portion, measure, marinate, season, and prepare food products as directed.
- Cook menu items according to established recipes, cooking procedures, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, flavor, temperature, portioning, and presentation.
- Set up and maintain assigned line and prep stations.
- Ensure food is properly labeled, dated, stored, rotated, and handled.
- Monitor food quality and communicate shortages or quality concerns to the Shift Leader or Manager.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation throughout the shift.
- Complete cleaning and closing duties according to established procedures.
- Work efficiently with other kitchen team members to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.
- Assist other stations and team members when needed.
- Help maintain proper inventory and minimize food waste.
- Follow instructions from the Shift Leader, Assistant Manager, and management team.
- Assist with catering preparation and service as needed.
- Perform other reasonable kitchen duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, line cook, or prep cook experience preferred, but willingness to learn is important.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established procedures accurately.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties of a kitchen position.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
