Summary:
Performs a wide variety of duties and functions to prepare, measure, season, cook, assemble and serve foods for patients/residents, staff, and visitors. Follows standardized recipes and menu guidelines for food consistency. Adheres to temperatures and safe food handling practices. Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties to work areas, equipment, and wares. Transports equipment, meals and supplies to various destinations according to requests. Promotes and maintains positive service culture.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
  • Two (2) years cooking experience either in healthcare or hospitality industries required
  • In lieu of the above requirement, an Associate degree in culinary arts or related title and 1 year of experience is acceptable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate
  • Ability to read and tell time
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Ability to perform both batch and Inline cooking required
  • Ability to demonstrate culinary skills and knowledge of applicable standards and use related equipment including but not limited to: broil, grill, bake, roast, fry, sauté, puree, poach
